I believe my introduction to Reiki was planned long before I had even heard of it and that all the necessary steps were put in place for me to be guided by spirit to my Reiki Master, Zoe Alexander.

Throughout my life I have had spells of being aware of events taking me in certain directions.  Some I embraced, many I met with fear but deep down I seemed to have an understanding that all were happening for a reason.  This is especially clear when I look back.

I met Zoe following a job change which came about through very strange circumstances.  I had been suffering from depression following a great deal of upheaval in my life and had come to a point where I no longer wanted to feel that way. I made a conscious decision to leave the job that did not make me happy and find a new one.  Having made that decision and taken action, the chain of events that followed seemed to fall into place quickly and easily and I landed in what was to become my dream job.

Meeting Zoe happened at the perfect time. I was starting to really enjoy the changes that I could see happening and I felt enthusiastic about my future.

Zoe was a Reiki Practitioner and Master Teacher at my new place of work, not that that meant anything to me initially.  However, it did arouse my curiosity and I began speaking to Zoe about what Reiki was and this in turn led me to attending Reiki I and Reiki II courses with Zoe in 2004.

I learned a lot about myself whilst on the Reiki courses, which began an ongoing process of self healing. I hadn’t realised how much baggage I’d been carrying, much of which I found hard to look at when it surfaced, but Zoe was always on hand to give me the tools I needed.

For the next year I worked on myself and treated many people with Reiki on a student learning basis, while working full time as Marketing Manager.

In 2006 Zoe suggested I start studying to become a Reiki Master, which I did with enthusiasm. In 2007 Zoe gave me my Reiki Master attunement, encouraging me to start teaching Reiki.

Since starting to teach in 2007 I have been fortunate enough to meet many wonderful people and had the privilege of sharing their paths.  I have found through teaching, it is always a two way process - my students are also my teachers, for which I am very grateful.

I feel we all have a life purpose and I believe mine is to teach, which is wonderful news for me because it is something I wholeheartedly enjoy.

My teaching method is largely based on the way I was taught, which I feel gave me what I needed to grow spiritually.

I know we are all spirit beings having a unique human experience and understand the human struggles this brings.  However, I believe that each struggle carries with it an opportunity to grow as we work to bring ourselves back into balance of body, mind, emotion and spirit.

In 2009 I spent a month in Australia, where Zoe now lives, assisting her in writing a course on Energy Enlightenment for Body and Soul.  Leading up to, during and following my visit and through teaching the course in Scotland my knowledge and understanding of energy has grown.  We are all energy beings fully equipped with state of the art energy sensory mechanism and circuitry.  We use this circuitry in every moment that we are alive but are seldom conscious of it.
